Book #4 looks suspenseful. I found it on the libraries web site so it is at the library. I am sure it is at the christian book stores. I have not checked Wal-Mart or Target. It is The Witness by Dee Henderson. Here is a little summary of the book...
A killer lures a murder witness out of hiding by targeting her sisters. The police chief and his two detectives--all falling in love with different sisters--make it their personal missions to keep the women safe. Facing the future will take a faith deeper than any of them currently knows.
We will not be meeting in January. It would be too soon after Christmas and family will be still visiting for some of us so you will have a little extra time to read this one. We plan to meet at Shannon's the first Friday of February. Happy reading.

OK so I hear that some of us are unable to make it to the meeting this Friday. Don't fear you can talk about the book here. Just post a comment and tell us what you though. Also make sure you check the blog for our next book. I will try to have it posted by Saturday morning but no later than Monday. I do have a crazy weekend ahead of me. Hope to hear all your thoughts.

Our purpose is to meet and share with friends, books that will challenge and inspire us.
We will meet the first Friday of each month at 7pm
Each participant will have a turn to present a book to the book club.
If you present the book you will have the opportunity to.....
Lead the discusssion if you don't want to lead, Jessica or Christy will
Choose the location we meet, your house, starbucks etc... (Jessica's house will always be a place we can meet)
You will also be incharge of providing a dessert or snack or coordinating who will bring it.
Guidelines to selecting a book
Written by a Christian author
All books and topics need to be God honoring
Your fiction selection can be any genre, romance, suspense etc.
Every 3 months we will read a non fiction book
The nonfiction can be a topical book ie: about Grace, relationships, joy, encouragement or a biography or christian missionaries/matyers etc.
If it is your month to choose and it is a non fiction month and you want to choose a fiction. We will keep to the schedule of the 3rd month being nonfiction, Christy and Jessica will pick the non fiction book and you will pick the fiction book the following month. If this doesn't make sense, I am not surprised..haha
Guidelines for presenting a book
Bring 2 books to the meeting before the month we are to read your book. We will vote on our favorite. If it is a tie vote then the presenter will break the tie and choose the book.

1. Jessica
2. Christy
3. Julie
4. Shannon
5. Angie

Book 2
I really enjoyed Redeeming Love so much so that I am nervous this second book wont even be able to compare. I have read comments on it though and it is well liked. Book 2 is called Return to Me by Robin Lee Hatcher. There are 30 chapters plus a prologue and an epilogue so we will say 32 chapters in 4 weeks. Lets break it up 8 chapters a week. I know for me, I read much faster than that but for blogging purposes we will break it up this way. Date to meet will probably be on a Friday but exact date it is TBA. Happy reading. And everyone please try to comment at least once. I don't want to be the only one commenting. Love to all.

Getting Started
Our first Blog, for our first book, in our new book club, how exciting. Our first book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. This book is a fictional noval based on the bibles love story of Gomer and Hosea. The plan is to read the book and meet once a month, in person, to discuss what we read. But in the meantime we can discuss what we love, hate, or what we have an insite about every few chapters here on the blog.
